ABOUT THE TOUR

Join internationally awarded landscape and night-sky photographer Victor Lima on an exclusive 10-day photographic journey through Iceland, designed around some of the country's most spectacular landscapes and the pursuit of the Northern Lights.

With a small group of only 6 to 12 participants, the tour combines carefully selected locations, flexible shooting schedules and hands-on photographic guidance from Victor, with the itinerary constantly adapted to weather, light and aurora conditions.

You will travel in comfortable vehicles well suited to exploring Iceland’s iconic landscapes, including the spectacular Snæfellsnes Peninsula, where you will photograph landmarks such as Kirkjufell Mountain and the Black Church of Búðir. You will also explore Iceland’s stunning South Coast, visiting the dramatic Vestrahorn Mountain, Jökulsárlón Glacier Lagoon, Diamond Beach, spectacular waterfalls, and much more. To complete the journey, you will discover the famous Golden Circle, home to Þingvellir National Park, the Geysir geothermal area, and the magnificent Gullfoss waterfall, all located in southwestern Iceland.

Iceland is one of the best places in the world to witness and photograph the Northern Lights. Throughout the tour, the team will closely monitor weather and aurora conditions to make the most of every photographic opportunity. Victor will provide hands-on guidance on the techniques, camera settings and creative decisions involved in photographing the Aurora Borealis and creating technically strong, compelling images.

YOUR PHOTO TOUR LEADER

Victor Lima is an internationally awarded landscape and night-sky photographer whose work has been recognized by National Geographic, NASA Astronomy Picture of the Day, Milky Way Photographer of the Year, and Northern Lights Photographer of the Year.

Victor will be accompanied throughout the tour by a dedicated tour assistant, providing logistical support, group coordination and assistance with the day-to-day operation of the expedition.

TRIP ITINERARY

Below you will find the complete itinerary for the Iceland Photo Tour, taking place on the following dates: October 29 to November 7, 2026; November 11 to 20, 2026; and February 1 to 10, 2027.

DAY 1 – Reykjavík

Arrival at Keflavík International Airport (KEF) is preferably scheduled for the morning. Airport transfer to Reykjavík is included for flights arriving no later than 4:00 PM. Participants arriving after 4:00 PM will be responsible for arranging and covering the cost of their own transfer to Reykjavík.

Once you arrive at the hotel, feel free to relax or use your time to begin exploring the city. The world’s northernmost capital is known for its colorful urban scenery, distinctive architecture, and beautiful surrounding nature.

At 7:00 PM, your guides and the rest of the group will meet in the hotel lobby, and we will head to a fine restaurant for dinner. During the evening, you will learn more about the itinerary and have the opportunity to ask any questions you may have about the tour.

Overnight in Reykjavík.

DAY 2 – First Day in Snæfellsnes

Shortly after breakfast, we will head toward the Snæfellsnes Peninsula, home to some of the most photogenic scenery in all of Iceland.

As we travel along the region’s rugged coastline, we will stop to photograph the columnar basalt cliffs and spectacular coastal formations of Arnarstapi, the charming Black Church of Búðir, the Búðahraun lava field, and Lóndrangar, two imposing basalt monoliths that resemble the ruins of a medieval castle.

Snæfellsnes is also one of the best places in Iceland to search for one of nature’s greatest spectacles: the Northern Lights. Keep your eyes on the sky and your camera ready.

DAY 3 – Second Day in Snæfellsnes

On our third day in Iceland, we will continue exploring and photographing the locations in Snæfellsnes that we did not visit the previous day. We will travel along the rugged coastline, pass through charming fishing villages, and photograph the dramatic mountains that divide the northern and western parts of the peninsula.

One of the highlights will be Mount Kirkjufell, near Grundarfjörður, famous for its distinctive pyramid-like shape when viewed from the right angle. It is one of Iceland’s most photogenic mountains, constantly offering new photographic possibilities through changes in perspective, light, weather, and composition.

Nearby lies the beautiful Kirkjufellsfoss waterfall. The combination of the mountain, waterfall, village, and surrounding fjord creates one of Iceland’s most iconic photographic scenes. During the evening, we will once again keep watch for the Northern Lights, hoping to add the aurora to this extraordinary landscape.

Overnight in Snæfellsnes.

DAY 4 – Iceland’s South Coast

We will continue our journey toward Iceland’s spectacular South Coast. We will begin the day by visiting two of the country’s most famous and impressive waterfalls: Seljalandsfoss and Skógafoss.

Seljalandsfoss is a narrow waterfall dropping approximately 63 meters and is particularly famous for the path that allows visitors to walk behind the cascade. Skógafoss, meanwhile, is considered one of Iceland’s most beautiful waterfalls. A staircase leads to a viewpoint above the falls and onward toward several other impressive waterfalls. When sunlight and weather conditions align, Skógafoss is also famous for producing spectacular rainbows, sometimes even double rainbows.

Later, we will continue toward Iceland’s southernmost region to experience the dramatic scenery of the famous Reynisfjara Black Sand Beach. The Reynisdrangar sea stacks, black volcanic sands, powerful waves of the North Atlantic Ocean, the striking basalt columns of Garðar, and the rich variety of seabirds make this one of the most spectacular photographic locations of the entire journey.

The South Coast also provides some of Iceland’s most dramatic foregrounds for photographing the Northern Lights, should the aurora appear during the evening.

DAY 5 – Vatnajökull National Park

On this day, we will continue our journey toward Vatnajökull National Park, home to Vatnajökull, Europe’s largest ice cap by volume. Much like the Snæfellsnes Peninsula, this remarkable region brings together many of the natural features that make Iceland such an extraordinary destination.

Focusing on the southern and eastern areas of the park, we will photograph vast glaciers and dramatic glacier tongues, surrounded by volcanic landscapes and dark-sand plains.

As night approaches, we will continue our search for the Northern Lights. If conditions are favorable, the aurora can add an even more otherworldly atmosphere to this already spectacular scenery. This time of year is especially favorable for aurora photography, thanks to the long hours of darkness.

Overnight near Vatnajökull National Park.

DAY 6 – Jökulsárlón Glacier Lagoon and Diamond Beach

Today we will have plenty of time to photograph the magnificent Jökulsárlón Glacier Lagoon, located in the eastern part of Vatnajökull National Park. Massive icebergs calve from Breiðamerkurjökull Glacier and drift slowly through the lagoon toward the ocean, each displaying its own unique shapes, textures, and colors.

We will also explore Diamond Beach, where ancient blocks of glacial ice are scattered across the black volcanic sand. The contrast between crystal-clear ice, dark sand, changing light, reflections, and the surrounding landscape creates endless opportunities for unique compositions.

Wide-angle lenses are particularly useful here, allowing you to capture both the scale of the landscape and the intricate foreground details. Later, we will once again keep watch for the Northern Lights, which can transform this already extraordinary location into one of the most memorable photographic experiences of the tour.

DAY 7 – Vestrahorn and Vatnajökull

On the seventh day of our expedition, we will have plenty of time to photograph the impressive Vestrahorn Mountain, rising 454 meters above the black volcanic beaches of the Stokksnes Peninsula. Formed from unstratified plutonic rock, mainly gabbro and granophyre, Vestrahorn is a remarkable photographic subject thanks to its dramatic shape and the almost endless range of compositions it offers.

Vestrahorn is made up of several steep peaks, including the distinctive Brunnhorn outcrop, which extends eastward toward the sea. The powerful waves of the North Atlantic add even more drama to the landscape, while sunrise and sunset can provide particularly beautiful light for photography.

At night, if the Northern Lights appear, the already surreal character of this landscape becomes even more spectacular, creating exceptional opportunities for aurora photography.

Overnight in the Vatnajökull area.

DAY 8 – Fjaðrárgljúfur Canyon & Dyrhólaey

On this day, we will begin our journey back along Iceland’s South Coast, with a photography stop at the spectacular Fjaðrárgljúfur Canyon. Carved over thousands of years by glacial rivers, this dramatic canyon features steep moss-covered walls, winding cliffs, and striking viewpoints that offer excellent opportunities for landscape photography.

Later in the day, we will continue toward Dyrhólaey, one of the most impressive coastal locations in southern Iceland. From its elevated viewpoints, we can photograph the vast black-sand coastline, dramatic sea cliffs, offshore rock formations, and the iconic natural arch rising above the North Atlantic. We will remain at Dyrhólaey for sunset, when the changing light can transform the coastline and create some of the most atmospheric conditions of the entire tour.

As evening falls, we will continue to monitor the sky for the Northern Lights. If conditions are favorable, we will take advantage of another opportunity to photograph the aurora over Iceland’s dramatic South Coast.

Overnight in Vík.

DAY 9 – The Golden Circle and Keflavík

On the final full day of our journey through Iceland, we will visit the country’s famous “Big Three” natural attractions, collectively known as the Golden Circle: Þingvellir National Park, the Geysir geothermal area, and Gullfoss waterfall, all located in southwestern Iceland.

A UNESCO World Heritage Site, Þingvellir National Park is one of Iceland’s most historically and geologically significant locations. It was here that the ancient national assembly was established, and Iceland’s modern parliament, the Alþingi, still carries its name. The park lies within a dramatic rift valley, where the movement of the tectonic plates is clearly visible. One of its most impressive features is the Almannagjá gorge, near the beautiful Öxarárfoss waterfall. The surrounding mountains and Þingvallavatn, Iceland’s largest natural lake, also provide excellent photographic opportunities.

Our next destination will be the Geysir geothermal area in Haukadalur Valley. The famous Geysir gave its name to geysers around the world. Although Geysir itself erupts only rarely today, its nearby neighbor Strokkur erupts frequently, sending columns of hot water approximately 15 to 20 meters into the air.

Finally, we will visit Gullfoss, the “Golden Waterfall,” considered by many to be one of Iceland’s most beautiful waterfalls and one of the country’s most iconic locations for landscape photography. Fed by the glacial Hvítá River, Gullfoss plunges in two stages into a narrow canyon, with a total drop of approximately 32 meters.

After visiting the three major attractions of the Golden Circle and experiencing many of Iceland’s most remarkable natural landscapes, we will continue to Keflavík for our final night in the country.

This will also be our last opportunity during the tour to photograph the Northern Lights, so keep an eye on the sky and your camera ready.

DAY 10 – End of the Iceland Adventure

Hotel-to-airport transfer is included according to your return flight schedule. Participants are free to choose their preferred departure flight. Please note that the hotel stay does not include late check-out.

The itinerary may be subject to changes. Any adjustments will be communicated to all participants prior to the trip.

PRICING & PAYMENT TERMS

The total tour price is €4,500 per person, based on a group of 6 to 12 participants.

The price is based on shared double occupancy;
If the minimum number of 6 participants is not reached by the end of the registration period, the tour may still operate subject to a price adjustment. Any such adjustment will be discussed and agreed upon with the participants before final confirmation;
Your booking will be confirmed upon payment of a €1,000 deposit;
The remaining balance may be paid in monthly installments and must be fully paid no later than 30 days before the start of the tour;
Credit card payment options are available upon request.

THE TOUR PRICE INCLUDES

Accommodation in shared double rooms, including breakfast;
Private transportation during all scheduled tour activities and transfers included in the itinerary;
Admission fees to all attractions included in the itinerary;
Continuous photographic guidance and support from photographer Victor Lima.

THE TOUR PRICE DOES NOT INCLUDE

Travel insurance (mandatory);
International or domestic airfare;
Personal expenses;
Lunches, dinners, snacks, and beverages unless expressly stated otherwise;
Optional activities or experiences not included in the itinerary;
Single room supplement: €850;
Photographic equipment, laptop, and other personal equipment;
Any service, item, or expense not expressly listed above as included.

TERMS & CONDITIONS

The tour price is quoted and payable in Euros (€). Any bank fees, currency conversion fees, or other charges applied by the participant’s bank or payment provider are the responsibility of the participant.
To secure a place on the tour, a €1,000 deposit is required. The remaining balance must be paid in full no later than 30 days before the start of the tour.
Participants who prefer single-room accommodation throughout the tour may request it for an additional €850 single supplement, subject to availability.
Shared rooms are allocated according to the order in which bookings are received. Whenever possible, participants sharing a room will be matched with another participant of the same gender, unless they are traveling as a couple or specifically request to share a room. If, due to room allocation and group composition, a participant who booked shared accommodation must be placed in a single room involuntarily, an additional €500 supplement will apply.
Our preferred payment method is bank transfer. A 5% discount is available for full payment made by bank transfer. Credit card payments are also available upon request and may be subject to additional processing fees depending on the payment method and installment plan. All applicable fees will be clearly communicated before payment.
To ensure that every participant receives adequate personal attention and photographic guidance throughout the Iceland adventure, the group is limited to a maximum of 12 participants.
A minimum of 6 participants is required for the tour to operate at the advertised price. Final confirmation of the tour will be made no later than 60 days before departure, provided that the minimum number of participants has been reached.
If the minimum number of participants is not reached, participants may choose between receiving a full refund of all amounts paid or transferring the amount paid as credit toward another available Photo Tour organized by us. Alternatively, the tour may still operate with fewer participants if a revised price is agreed upon by those interested in proceeding.
Tour dates or itinerary may be changed in the event of circumstances beyond our reasonable control, including severe weather, natural disasters, road or destination closures, government restrictions, epidemics, or other situations that may affect the safety or feasibility of the tour. If the tour needs to be rescheduled, participants may choose to join the tour on the new dates or transfer the amount paid as credit toward another available tour.
Our services are limited to the arrangements expressly included in the Photo Tour package, such as accommodation, private transportation during the scheduled itinerary, admission fees where applicable, and photographic guidance. Participants are responsible for their own passports, visas, entry requirements, travel authorizations, travel insurance, airline tickets, and any other personal documentation or arrangements required for the trip.
The tour will be led by Victor Lima, an internationally awarded landscape and night-sky photographer, and supported by a dedicated tour assistant responsible for logistical support and group coordination. All photographic instruction and technical guidance will be provided by Victor, helping participants make the most of Iceland’s landscapes and Northern Lights photography opportunities.
The tour will be conducted in English, Portuguese, and Spanish.

PHOTOGRAPHIC EQUIPMENT

We recommend bringing a DSLR or mirrorless camera, preferably with at least two lenses:

A fast wide-angle lens, ideal for landscapes and Northern Lights photography;
A standard zoom or medium telephoto lens for more distant subjects and tighter compositions;
A sturdy tripod, essential for long exposures and night photography.

Optional but recommended equipment includes photographic filters and a remote shutter release.

Please also remember to bring:

Spare camera batteries;
Battery chargers;
Several memory cards with sufficient storage capacity;
Microfiber cloths and lens-cleaning accessories;
A headlamp, preferably with a red-light mode;
A power bank or portable charger;
Protective covers or other equipment suitable for keeping your camera and lenses protected from rain, snow, wind, and sea spray.

Whenever possible, bring backup equipment for essential items, as photographic equipment and accessories may be difficult to replace during the tour.

WHAT TO WEAR

Iceland’s weather is famously unpredictable, and conditions can change very quickly. During our tour, participants should be prepared for cold temperatures, strong winds, rain, snow, and rapidly changing weather, particularly during outdoor photography sessions and at night.

The best approach is to dress in multiple layers, allowing you to add or remove clothing according to the conditions.

We recommend:

Thermal base layers;
Fleece, wool, or another insulating mid-layer;
Warm insulated jacket;
Waterproof and windproof outer jacket;
Waterproof and windproof trousers;
Warm, waterproof hiking or winter boots with good grip;
Thermal or wool socks, plus spare pairs;
Warm gloves — ideally allowing enough dexterity to operate a camera;
Warm hat or beanie;
Neck gaiter or scarf.

Good waterproof clothing and footwear are particularly important, as many photography sessions take place close to waterfalls, beaches, snow, ice, and exposed coastal areas.

TRAVEL DOCUMENTS & REQUIREMENTS

Participants are responsible for ensuring that they meet all immigration and entry requirements applicable to their nationality.

For travelers from outside the EEA/EFTA, passports must generally be valid for at least three months beyond the intended date of departure from the Schengen Area and must have been issued within the previous 10 years. Visa requirements depend on the participant’s nationality. (Island)

Participants must have:

A valid passport or other travel document accepted for entry into Iceland;
Any visa, travel authorization, or other documentation required according to their nationality;
Travel insurance covering the entire duration of the trip, which is mandatory for participation in this Photo Tour.

We strongly recommend checking the latest official Icelandic and Schengen entry requirements before traveling, as immigration rules may change.

CANCELLATION & REFUND POLICY

If a participant wishes to cancel their booking, they may do so at any time by notifying the tour organization in writing as soon as possible.

Because accommodation, transportation, logistics, and other services are arranged in advance based on the confirmed number of participants, cancellations may result in non-refundable costs and may also affect the minimum group size required for the tour to operate.

The following cancellation conditions apply:

The €1,000 booking deposit is non-refundable in the event of a cancellation initiated by the participant.
For cancellations made more than 60 days before the start of the tour, all amounts paid beyond the €1,000 booking deposit will be refunded.
For cancellations made between 60 and 45 days before the start of the tour, 50% of the amount paid beyond the €1,000 booking deposit will be refunded.
For cancellations made less than 45 days before the start of the tour, no refund will be provided.
If a participant who wishes to cancel is able to find another person to take their place, the amounts paid may be refunded, excluding the €1,000 booking deposit and any non-refundable costs already incurred by the organization. The replacement participant must be approved by the tour organization and must not already be registered for, or in an active booking process for, this tour.
If the tour has reached its maximum capacity and the cancelled place can subsequently be filled by another participant, the cancelling participant may receive a refund of 70% of the amount paid beyond the €1,000 booking deposit.

These cancellation conditions apply to cancellations initiated by the participant. If the tour cannot be confirmed because the minimum group size is not reached, the separate cancellation provisions described above under Terms & Conditions will apply, including the option of a refund or transfer of the amount paid as credit toward another available Photo Tour.

We strongly recommend purchasing comprehensive travel insurance that includes appropriate trip cancellation and interruption coverage, in addition to medical and emergency coverage.
